Sonsbeek Raft, 2001

AVL’s raft was created after the local authorities closed the Hall of Delights in AVL-Ville. The restaurant did not have a liquor license, among other permits. AVL decided to make a floating restaurant since no licenses are required at sea. Built of scaffolding and inflatable pontoons, the raft has a kitchen, a dining area, sleeping spaces, a compost toilet and an outdoor shower. The front of the raft sports a large penis, the Pitiful One.
