Soft Edge, 1990

The Hard Edge collection was followed by the Soft Edge collection. This collection consists of several bathrooms and toilets units. For these art works Joep van Lieshout took the idea of authenticity a step further. The role of the artist was reduced to that of a contractor. The client would decide how their bathroom should look like. Joep van Lieshout took the three conditions of art, authenticity, uniqueness and non functionality a step further.
